Welcome to the 2014 Cornell Leadership Program and Veterinary Investigator Program (VIP) Application!

About Us:

At Cornell University, there are two summer programs for Veterinary Students. The first program is the Leadership Program for Veterinary Scholars, which is a unique summer research experience for veterinary students who seek to broadly influence the veterinary profession through a science-based career. The program is an intensive, research-oriented initiative. It combines faculty-guided research with student-directed learning through participation in modules, workshops and group discussions. The activities encourage responsible leadership, critical thinking and the development of teamwork skills. The program also highlights graduate training opportunities calculated to promote the professional development of program alumni as independent scientists and public health professionals.

The second program is the Veterinary Investigator Program (VIP), which is a 10-week summer program designed to provide first- and second-year veterinary students with research skills and knowledge of the role that biomedical research plays in veterinary medicine. Cornell DVM students are encouraged to sustain the program throughout their years at the College. Two spaces are reserved for veterinary students from other institutions.
